 The symbol Om consists of the three letters A - U - M. What looks like a 3 is the A, the curved line at the bottom right represents the U and the arc above is the M. Each of the three letters corresponds to a state: A for waking, U for dreaming and M for deep sleep. Loosely translated it means "everything that has been, what is and what will be". It also symbolizes the triad of the Hindu gods Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma.
 The vibrations that arise when singing the Oms are supposed to bring body, mind and soul into harmony and create a state of harmony and calm.
