ShriYantra
The Shri Yantra belongs to Sacred Geometry. A yantra is a geometric figure. Yantra also means motor, yantra also means something that moves something and causes something. It is one of the oldest, purest and most powerful symbols. Its origin is estimated to be more than 12,000 years old. It is said to bring material and spiritual wealth to life. The ShriYantra is the most powerful yantra in Buddhism. "Shri" means "prosperity" and "Yantra" means "instrument.
The Shri Yantra consists of nine triangles. The triangles pointing down represent Shakti, the divine mother. The triangles that point upwards represent Shiva and thus consciousness. In the middle of Shri Yantra there is a point also called bindu, it stands for the origin.
